Israel’s final Gaza solution

July 19, 2025

Reports of a shocking Israeli Gaza “solution” that aims to ethnically cleanse Gaza of all Palestinians by establishing so-called Humanitarian Transit Areas or concentration camps has surfaced in Israeli and other media.

The plan details the creation of mass enclosed camps that Palestinians will be enticed to enter but unable to leave unless they depart “voluntarily” and are “transported” out of Gaza.

I use the terms “concentration camps”, “solution” and “transported” deliberately. Although from the Nazi Holocaust playbook, what’s potentially going to occur under our watch in Gaza resembles the way Jews in the 1930s and 1940s were enclosed in ghettos and transition camps all over Europe prior to their ultimate transportation to the German death camps – except that now, the mass killing has preceded the transportation plan and the descendants of Holocaust victims have become the perpetrators. The day after the ceasefire: Boycotts, sanctions and divestments must intensify

January 17, 2025

After 15 months of the most horrific live-streamed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, Israel has been forced into an interim ceasefire. How long it will last is anyone’s guess but Israel’s contempt for any restraining agreements doesn’t offer much hope.

The deal to stop the bombs and to allow food and medical aid into Gaza with a prisoner exchange and nominal ‘freedom’ to move within Gaza, has been celebrated by those on the ground who’ve survived and endured horrors we cannot imagine and by those of us who’ve watched all 460 days of the genocide in shock, anger and despair.

However, the ‘day after’ scenario begs the question – what will be tangibly different now for Palestinians in Gaza and throughout the rest of the Occupied Territories than before October 7, 2023 and what is a just resolution? Human rights lawyer and former UN Director of the New York Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Craig Mokhiber, put it succinctly hours after the ceasefire announcement,

“A return to the cruel status quo before October 2023 is not the day after, it’s the day before. The genocide & siege must end, its perpetrators & collaborators must be held to account, Gaza rebuilt, the apartheid regime in Israel dismantled, the occupation ended, the entire land decolonized, society de-zionized, Palestinians freed across the land & those in the diaspora allowed to come home, and a new dispensation must be established based on full & equal human rights for all Christians, Muslims, and Jews. That is the struggle. That is the only “day after.” Full story see link:

Weaponising antisemitism – BDS, antisemitism and the silencing of criticism of Israel

January 8, 2025

To be Jewish does not mean an automatic identification with the rogue state of Israel. Nor does it mean that Jews are automatically threatened by criticism of Israel, yet our media and Labor and Liberal politicians would have you believe this is the case.

We are seeing a debate in Australia about the so-called rise of antisemitism which includes rally chants for Gaza at a time when we are witnessing the most horrific Israeli genocide of Palestinians in which our government is complicit.

Jewish peak bodies here and internationally have continually linked their identity to that of Israel. Why? Can generations of Jews in this country still believe that Israel represents anything like the myths that were perpetrated at its inception? The Executive Council of Australian Jewry, the Zionist Federation of Australia, the Jewish Board of Deputies and others, all staunchly defend this apartheid state that’s accused of plausible genocide by the UN International Court of Justice and confirmed by dozens of human rights and legal NGOs, UN Rapporteurs, medical organisations and holocaust scholars. Israel’s Prime Minister and former Defence Minister have been charged as war criminals by the International Criminal Court and must be arrested and tried in the Hague, yet Australia maintains a cosy relationship with Israel and our media dutifully repeats its outright lies verbatim. Ice Hockey Australia branded antisemitic as it red flags Melbourne tournament

January 13, 2025

Ice Hockey Australia’s decision to withdraw from hosting a lower-tier men’s world championship event citing safety concerns, has been denounced by Jewish and Israeli organisations as antisemitic, yet there’s no evidence of this. What is evident is that red flags are now appearing when Israeli national teams seek to participate in international sporting events.

This is a significant development and not an isolated one. Israel has become a pariah state and even if some international sporting bodies don’t have the courage to openly ban or boycott Israel because of its unspeakable human rights violations and Gaza Genocide, they are taking action to remove themselves from any association with this state on various pretexts.

Australians supported sporting bans on South Africa due to its apartheid system and while calls to ban apartheid Israel from major sporting events are gathering momentum internationally, Australian politicians and media provide cover for Israel, accepting that any criticism or action that displeases Israel is construed as antisemitic.
